Alabama Homeschooling

In this state, parents must start a church school or enroll in an existing one, or obtain a private tutor, who is a certified teacher and monitored by the local school district, in order to homeschool.

Reporting: Parents must file a notice of intent with the local school district. Attendance records must be kept.

Compulsory Attendance: From age 7 to 16
