Nebraska Homeschooling

Here, homeschooling is considered in the same category as a private school.
Reporting: Parents must file a Notice of Intent with the state commissioner of education by August 1 or 30 days before starting to teach.

Compulsory Attendance: Ages 6 to 18; 1,032 hours per year for elementary grades, which is equivalent to (180 days @ 5.75 hours per day) and 1,080 hours per year for high school grades — 180 days @ 6 hours per day.

Required Subjects: Math, Language arts, (reading, grammar, spelling, etc.), science, health and social studies.
